The last album of the Delain, » Hunter’s Moon « , was released on February 22 at Napalm Records after 3 years of waiting, the previous one dating from 2016.
The band has made its mark for a long time in symphonic metal, alongside other well-known groups.
The album consists of 4 new tracks and 10 live tracks. The cover is very nice with its flowery artwork. At first listen, I found that the voice of Charlotte Wessels had changed since the previous album.
We are captivated by the first titles of the album. The melodic voice of Charlotte with her lyrical flights listens without moderation. Also enjoy listening to the riffs of Timo Somers, the band’s guitarist.
The title Art Kills, duet with » Twan Driessen « , offers us beautiful melodic death metal passages while we have more soft moments on titles like: » Masters Of Destiny » and many others.
Then come the live titles. I love listening to fans calling the group. On Hands Of Gold, George Oosthoek (MaYaN) growls for our greatest pleasure. The audience accompanies the musicians by clapping on » Dance Macabre « . Over the titles we find the magic of concerts, thrills assured. Charlotte’s voice is a wonder on » Scarlet « , a ballad that softens the audience.
My favorite song is none other than » Sing To Me « , duet of Charlotte and Marco from Nightwish, a pure pleasure to listen to (ok it’s the fan who speaks;)). Very nice song, but Marco also appears on several other live tracks of the album.
The tracks follow each other and we reach the end after 1:40 hours of excellent titles, which will delight the fans of the Delain. An album to listen absolutely, the Dutch have nothing more to prove in the field of the symphonic metal.

Le dernier album du groupe Delain, » Hunter’s Moon « , est sorti le 22 février chez Napalm Records après 3 ans d’attente, le précédent datant de 2016.
Le groupe a pris ses marques depuis bien longtemps dans le metal symphonique, à côté d’autres groupes bien connus.
L’album est constitué de 4 nouveaux titres et de 10 titres live. La pochette est très sympathique avec son artwork fleuri. A la première écoute, j’ai trouvé que la voix de Charlotte Wessels avait changé depuis l’album précédent.
On est envoûté par les premiers titres de l’album. La voix mélodique de Charlotte avec ses envolées lyriques s’écoute sans modération. Plaisir également à écouter les riffs de Timo Somers, le guitariste du groupe.
Le titre » Art Kills « , en duo avec Twan Driessen, nous offre de beaux passages death mélodique tandis que l’on a des moments plus doux sur des titres comme : » Masters Of Destiny » et bien d’autres.
Arrivent ensuite les titres live. J’adore écouter les fans en forme pour appeler le groupe. Sur » Hands Of Gold « , George Oosthoek (MaYaN) growle pour notre plus grand plaisir. Le public accompagne les musiciens en tapant des mains sur » Dance Macabre « . Au fil des titres on retrouve la magie des concerts, frissons assurés. La voix de Charlotte fait merveille sur » Scarlet « , balade qui adoucit le public.
Mon titre préféré n’est autre que » Sing To Me « , duo de Charlotte et Marco Hietala de Nightwish, un pur plaisir à écouter (ok c’est la fan qui parle ;)). Très belle chanson, mais Marco apparaît aussi sur plusieurs autres titres live de l’album.
Les titres s’enchaînent et c’est déjà la fin après 1h40 d’excellents titres, qui vont ravir les fans du groupe Delain. Un album à écouter absolument, les néerlandais n’ont plus rien à prouver dans le milieu du metal symphonique.
